San Leandro extended their winning streak to five on Wednesday, bumping their season record up to 11-6 in the process. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Hayward Farmers. The Pirates have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Farmers, too.

San Leandro got a massive performance out of Gary Ferguson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. The Pirates are undefeated when Ferguson posts two or more runs, but 5-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Mario Marrero, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

As for Hayward, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season. Their loss continues a trend for the team, making it seven in a row.

On Hayward's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adrian Duran, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: San Leandro beat the Farmers by a score of 3-2 on Friday.
