Volleyball Recap: Jenny Blodgett Key Part of Team Effort in Lion Win

The Wickenburg Christian Academy Lion got the win against the Estrella Sidewinders on Wednesday by a conclusive 3-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lion.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Wickenburg Christian Academy took every set by at least 18 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-7, 25-5.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wickenburg Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jenny Blodgett, who had 15 aces and three assists. Those 15 aces gave Blodgett a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Audrey Moder, who had 13 aces.

They weren't the only good server: Wickenburg Christian Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 42 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 19 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Wickenburg Christian Academy now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Estrella, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Wickenburg Christian Academy will venture away from home to face off against Arrowhead Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Estrella, they will square off against Dream City Christian at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
