Basketball Game Preview: South Houston Trojans vs. Pearland Oilers

The South Houston Trojans will venture away from home to challenge the Pearland Oilers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

South Houston is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Shadow Creek on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. South Houston was beaten by Shadow Creek 80-35. The Trojans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-15.

Meanwhile, Pearland suffered their biggest loss since January 3rd on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a 68-38 loss at the hands of Shadow Creek. While losing is never fun, the Oilers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 175th, while the Sharks are ranked seventh).

Pearland's defeat dropped their record down to 19-11. As for South Houston, their loss dropped their record down to 21-10.

South Houston came up short against Pearland in their previous matchup back in January, falling 66-53. Can South Houston avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
