League recap: Alamo Heights rises in state rank

4A Region IV District 27 recap December 3, 2013

Alamo Heights moved up to 101 from 144 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 4A Region IV District 27. The Mules were able to move up by besting Calallen 31-7.

Alamo Heights took down the Wildcats 31-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.

5-foot-10 quarterback Cade Dyal of Tivy is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,331. He has also thrown 15 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Cort Cowart. The Boerne-Champion star has 44 catches for 738 yards.

Mike Norment's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 809 from 1,250. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 31-7 victory over Calallen last week.
