Basketball Game Preview: Cumberland County Panthers vs. Green County Dragons

The Cumberland County Panthers will square off against the Green County Dragons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Cumberland County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven matches.

Last Saturday, Cumberland County strolled past Berea with points to spare, taking the game 70-54.

Meanwhile, Green County hadn't done well against Elizabethtown recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Green County walked away with a 74-64 victory over Elizabethtown. Given the Dragons' advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Panthers are ranked 184th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cumberland County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.7 points over those games. As for Green County, their win bumped their record up to 20-3.
