Football Recap: KIPP DC Legacy College Prep Takes a Loss

KIPP DC Legacy College Prep and Digital Pioneers Academy squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but KIPP DC Legacy College Prep had to settle for second. They fell 26-21 to the Pythons. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Pythons: they've now lost four in a row.

Digital Pioneers Academy found their leader in freshman Laroy Williams, who rushed for 141 yards and two TDs on only 12 carries. Williams' longest rush was for an impressive 68 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Deandre Johnson was another key player, rushing for 77 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only five carries.

KIPP DC Legacy College Prep's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Digital Pioneers Academy, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-1.

KIPP DC Legacy College Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Digital Pioneers Academy, they will square off against St. Albans on Saturday. The Pythons will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least 31 points in their last four matchups.
