Basketball Preview: Grand Island Vikings vs. Emerson Vo-Tech Eagles
Grand Island has been on the road for three straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Emerson Vo-Tech Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Grand Island pushed their score all the way to 56 two weeks ago, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 66-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lackawanna.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Emerson Vo-Tech, who are still winless after their fifth contest. They lost to Riverside at home by a decisive 59-41 margin on Monday.
Grand Island's defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Emerson Vo-Tech, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
Grand Island ended up a good deal behind the Eagles in their previous meeting back in February of 2020, losing 55-41. Thankfully for Grand Island, Treyvaughn Jackson (who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten assists) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
