Football Recap: Laconia Takes a Loss

If Laconia was riding high fresh off their 21-0 takedown of Ripon last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Spartans fell just short of the Markesan Hornets by a score of 26-24 on Thursday. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Laconia's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Markesan, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Laconia and Markesan will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Spartans will square off against rival St. Mary's Springs at 7:00 p.m. on September 5. Meanwhile, Markesan is set to face off against their familiar foe Deerfield at 7:00 p.m. on September 5.
