 KIPP Collegiate won the last time they faced Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering, and things went their way  on Wednesday too. The KIPP Collegiate phoenix walked away with  a   9-5  win over the Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering Phoenix. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for KIPP Collegiate.
 For Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering's part,  Tyresse Young put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he  struck out seven batters over  two innings while giving up just one earned  (and four unearned) runs off   one  hit. Young was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in all two of his plate appearances.
 Young wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  one players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Brandon Williams, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-1.
 KIPP Collegiate pushed their record up to 2-1 with that  victory, which was their fifth straight  at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 11.0 runs per game. As for Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. KIPP Collegiate will take on Trezevant at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Trezevant is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 10.7  runs per game this season. As for Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering, they will look to defend their home field  on Tuesday against Memphis Business Academy at 5:00  p.m.
