Volleyball Game Preview: Johnston Dragons vs. Ankeny Centennial Jaguars

Johnston hasn't had much luck against Ankeny Centennial recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, Johnston didn't have quite enough to beat Valley and fell 2-1.

If Waukee wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Ankeny Centennial, they should've done a better job of containing Mya Lei Butters. The Jaguars came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday with plenty of help from Lei Butters, who had ten digs and seven assists. She has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last four times she's played.

Ankeny Centennial had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-21, 25-22, 25-12.

Ankeny Centennial is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. As for Johnston, their loss dropped their record down to 9-13.
