Baseball Recap: Maryvale's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

While Maryvale's victory against La Joya Community wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Fighting Lobos 9-8 on Friday. The win was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Angel Morales was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Ariel Garcia also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Maryvale's record is now 9-12. As for La Joya Community, their loss dropped their record down to 17-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maryvale will host Marcos de Niza at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Padres have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. As for La Joya Community, they will welcome Mohave at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in the Fighting Lobos' favor as the squad sits on eight straight wins at home while the Thunderbirds have been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road.
