Basketball Recap: Plateau Valley Takes a Loss

After flying high against Vail Mountain last Saturday, Plateau Valley came back down to earth. The Plateau Valley Cowboys were outmatched by the Rangely Panthers and fell 61-33. The Cowboys have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Rangely's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Miah Wren led the charge by dropping a double-double on 19 points and 11 steals. Wren has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 25 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlynn Ducey, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine steals.

Plateau Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Rangely, their win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-0.

Plateau Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 52-41 loss against Meeker on the 6th. Rangely has also already played their next contest, a 60-24 victory against Rifle on the 1st.
