Softball Recap: Midway/Minto's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Midway/Minto ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They walked away with a 9-6 win over the Grafton Spoilers. This was a revenge game for the Monarchs: when they faced off against the Spoilers on Monday, they had to take a 20-14 loss.

Paisley Uhlir spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Allison Haugen, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Rylee Anderson, who went 2-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

The victory snapped Midway/Minto's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-5 record. As for Grafton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-8.

As of now, neither Midway/Minto nor the Spoilers have any future games scheduled.
