Baseball Recap: Lakeside Triumphs

The Lakeside Eagles narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Brewster Bears 4-2. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly two runs.

Cy Reeves spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on one hit and racked up 15 Ks.

At the plate, Kannon Almond was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Nicholas Hernandez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Lakeside and bumps their season record up to 3-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Brewster, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.

Lakeside wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 14-4 loss against Kittitas on the 12th. As for Brewster, they have also already played their next contest, a 9-8 defeat against Colfax on the 12th.
