Baseball Recap: Hart Gets the Win

While Hart's victory against Hesperia wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Pirates narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Panthers 8-6. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Sawyer Boos and Caden VanGelderen did most of the damage at the plate: Boos went 3-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI, while VanGelderen went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those three hits gave VanGelderen a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mason Guikema, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Hart kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Hart's record now sits at 7-8. As for Hesperia, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Hart has already played their next contest (against Grant), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Hesperia, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 8-2 loss against White Cloud on the 24th.
