Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Hernando walked away with it. They came out on top against the Nature Coast Tech Sharks by a score of 8-4 on Wednesday. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 8-6 victory on April 15th.

Kaitlyn Carter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits.

At the plate, LeAnna Clark was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. She also put up a run, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Knierim, who went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Hernando moved to 14-9-1 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Nature Coast Tech, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season.

Hernando will take on Crystal River at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Pirates' pitching crew has only allowed 1.5 runs per game this season, so the Leopards' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Nature Coast Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
