Preview: Bellows Free Academy Bobwhites/Comets vs. Beekmantown Eagles

The Bellows Free Academy Bobwhites/Comets will head out on the road to take on the Beekmantown Eagles at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Bellows Free Academy is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in their respective states (they are ranked 12th in Vermont, while Beekmantown is ranked 170th in New York).

Last Thursday, everything went Bellows Free Academy's way against Rice Memorial as Bellows Free Academy made off with a 55-32 win.

Meanwhile, Beekmantown unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They were beaten by Northeastern Clinton 75-19. Beekmantown was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-16.

Beekmantown's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Grace McCasland, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and two blocks, and Payton Parliament who scored five points along with seven rebounds. It was the first time this season that McCasland posted two or more blocks.

Bellows Free Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Beekmantown, they dropped their record down to 8-9 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Bellows Free Academy beat Beekmantown 43-35 in their previous meeting back in January. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Parliament, who scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Bellows Free Academy still be able to contain Parliament? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
