Football Game Preview: Newark Collegiate Academy vs. Cedar Grove

After a string of three wins, Cedar Grove's good fortune finally ran out last Friday. They took a hard 21-39 fall against Hoboken. Cedar Grove's loss came about despite a quality game from senior Mike Lever, who picked up 84 yards on the ground and accumulated 197 passing yards. Lever has been a consistent playmaker for Cedar Grove as this was the 4th good game in a row from him.

As for Newark Collegiate Academy, Newark Collegiate Academy had a rough outing against Verona two weeks ago, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. Newark Collegiate Academy took the contest and then some with a 48-11 win over Glen Ridge. Followers of Newark Collegiate Academy probably expected little less of the squad in a season in which they have collected three blowout victories.

Newark Collegiate Academy's victory lifted them to 3-1 while Cedar Grove's defeat dropped them down to 3-1. We'll see if Newark Collegiate Academy's success rolls on or if Cedar Grove are able to steal their positive momentum.
