Basketball Game Preview: Northwest Whitfield Bruins vs. Dalton Catamounts

The Northwest Whitfield Bruins will head out to face off against the Dalton Catamounts at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Northwest Whitfield has three straight victories, Dalton has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Northwest Whitfield saw some tournament action two weeks ago. They walked away with a 49-39 win over Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts.

Meanwhile, Dalton was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 54-50 to Campbell. While losing is never fun, the Catamounts can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 190th, while the Spartans are ranked 48th).

Northwest Whitfield's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Dalton, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.

Northwest Whitfield might still be hurting after the 65-43 defeat they got from Dalton when the teams last played on December 14th. Can Northwest Whitfield avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
