Clarke Central had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, they made off with a 13-12 win over the Cedar Shoals Jaguars. The Gladiators haven't had any issues with the Jaguars recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Kamron Lawrence threw for 29 yards on four of nine attempts. On the ground, Nuhsi Valenti rushed for 44 yards and one touchdown.

Clarke Central will head out to challenge Oconee County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Cedar Shoals, they will be playing at home against Monroe Area at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
