Baseball Recap: Monta Vista Takes a Loss

Monta Vista lost against Harbor back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Matadors came up short against the Pirates, falling 11-4.

Monta Vista saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sravik Sajja, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Sajja has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Van Chow was another, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run.

Monta Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Harbor, they moved to 12-5 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monta Vista will square off against Fremont at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Firebirds' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Matadors' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Harbor, they will face off against Scotts Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
