Volleyball Recap: Martin Luther Takes a Loss

Martin Luther was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the West Bend East Suns. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-9.

Martin Luther's offense was headlined by Danielle Wise and Eliza Carson, who picked up two kills apiece. They got some help from Taryn Armbruster and her four assists.

Martin Luther's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for West Bend East, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Martin Luther has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Tournament Opponent on the 30th. As for West Bend East, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Port Washington on the 29th.
