Softball Recap: Ashby Sets Scoring Season-High Against Rothsay

Ashby was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 19-11 to the Rothsay Tigers. On the bright side, the 11- run performance marked the Arrows' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Laila Schroeder was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Abby Hokanson, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Ashby's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Rothsay, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Looking ahead, Ashby will take on Hillcrest Lutheran Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rothsay, they will square off against Brandon/Evansville at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Chargers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.36 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
