Baseball Recap: Elkhart Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Elkhart Christian Academy extended their losing streak to six on Monday, dropping their season record down to 2-9 in the process. They lost 18-3 to the Jimtown Jimmies. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 13-3 to the Jimmies when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

James Ramirez was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

As for Jimtown, their win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-4. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by seven runs or more this season.

On Jimtown's side, Colin Davis made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Davis was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Cole Dutton was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Broderic Kaler, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Coming up, Elkhart Christian Academy will head out to square off against La Lumiere at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Jimtown, they will square off against Westview at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Jimmies 3.9, the Warriors 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
