Basketball Recap: Denver North's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Denver North fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They walked away with a 56-49 win over the Lakewood Tigers on Tuesday.

Denver North's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sawyer Aubuchon, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 19 points and five rebounds. The matchup was Aubuchon's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sammy Barajas, who posted ten points and four steals.

Lakewood lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Quentin Wilson, who had 18 points along with seven boards and three steals. Zion Rich was another key player, as he made all 6 shots he took to post 12 points and six rebounds.

Denver North's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-6. As for Lakewood, they dropped their record down to 0-9 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Denver North will head out to square off against D'Evelyn at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Denver North is facing D'Evelyn at the right time seeing as D'Evelyn is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Lakewood, they will challenge Mullen at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mullen is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.7 points per game this season.
