Basketball Recap: Mabel-Canton Find Success

Mabel-Canton's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 58-50 win over the Schaeffer Academy Lions. The Cougars' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Isaac Underbakke had an outrageously good game as he dropped a double-double with 23 points and 12 boards. Another player making a difference was Kale Eiken, who posted 12 points and five steals.

Mabel-Canton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2024.

The victory got Mabel-Canton back to even at 1-1. As for Schaeffer Academy, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Mabel-Canton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-60 win against Bethlehem Academy on the 8th. As for Schaeffer Academy, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Wabasha-Kellogg at 7:00 p.m. on the 15th.
