Baseball Recap: Upper Merion Area Victorious

The matchup between Upper Merion Area and Norristown on Thursday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Vikings walked away with a 14-10 victory over the Eagles. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Vikings considering their one-run performance the game before.

Sean Rogers was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since April 1st. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Tomsho, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Upper Merion Area's win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Norristown, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Upper Merion Area will venture away from home to challenge Upper Perkiomen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Indians have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Norristown, they will square off against Pottstown at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.75 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
