In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addison Gillard, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. Sophia Livingston also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Nederland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, West Brook lost 14-4 to Port Neches-Groves on Tuesday. The Bruins haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Kya Hadnot (2025) made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Kehaira Haines (2025), who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Nederland's record now sits at 15-5. As for West Brook, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.
West Brook's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Nederland hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .393. It's a different story for West Brook, though, as they've only averaged .248. Will they be able to contain Nederland's hitters?
Nederland couldn't quite get it done against West Brook in their previous meeting back in March as they fell 14-11. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
