Volleyball Recap: Newton South Triumphs

Newton South's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Barnstable Red Hawks. This was payback for the Lions, who suffered a 3-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Newton South walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the third set). The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 17-25, 25-12, 25-17.

Barnstable's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jazzy Coyer, who had 13 digs and two aces. Coyer has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last three times she's played. Kylie Boorack was another key player, getting six digs and five aces.

Newton South now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Barnstable, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Newton South has already played their next game (against Andover), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Barnstable, they will face off against Duxbury at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
