Preview: Highline Pirates vs. Renton Red Hawks
Highline is 0-10 against Renton since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Highline Pirates will look to defend their home court against the Renton Red Hawks at 8:15 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Highline was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 62-61 to Sammamish. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Highline in their matchups with Sammamish: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the loss, Highline got a solid performance out of Marquawn Mccraney, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Corey Crosby, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks.
Meanwhile, Renton scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They breezed by Evergreen at home to the tune of 104-67. Renton has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 31 points or more this season.
Highline has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Renton, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-6.
