Football Recap: Sabine Cardinals vs. White Oak Roughnecks

Sabine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were beaten by the White Oak Roughnecks 48-13. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Cardinals have suffered against the Roughnecks since October 14, 2016.

Despite the loss, Sabine still got an impressive performance from Hudson Mcnatt, who rushed for 181 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries, and also threw for 56 yards and a touchdown. Mcnatt really tore up the turf during one magnificent 90-yard run.

Even though they lost, Sabine was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 273 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in August.

It was another big night for Jaxsen Ludlow, who rushed for 177 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.9 yards per carry, and also threw for 202 yards and two touchdowns for White Oak. Those 177 rushing yards gave Ludlow a new career-high. 123 of those passing yards were hauled in by Braydon Bratcher, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Sabine's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for White Oak, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.

Sabine will take on Jefferson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jefferson will be hoping to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last. As for White Oak, they will challenge Liberty-Eylau at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Liberty-Eylau is coming into the match with three straight wins on the road, so White Oak will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
