Basketball Recap: Gallatin County Comes Up Short

Gallatin County came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Galatia Bearcats, falling 67-46. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 58-56 two weeks ago.

Galatia's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eli Hankins, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 17 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Will Puckett, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards.

Gallatin County's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Galatia, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.

Gallatin County has already played their next game, a 78-58 loss against Hamilton County on the 8th. As for Galatia, they are taking a road trip to challenge Elverado at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
