Softball Game Preview: Argo Argonauts vs. Shepard Astros

Argo hasn't had much luck against Shepard recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Argonauts will be playing in front of their home fans against the Astros at 4:30 p.m. Shepard took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Argo, who comes in off a win.

Argo's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Crete-Monee as they made off with a 10-0 victory. Considering the Argonauts have won seven games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matchups, Shepard finally came back down to earth on Friday. They fell 6-1 to Evergreen Park.

Shepard's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Argo, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Argo couldn't quite get it done against Shepard when the teams last played back in May of 2025 as they fell 3-0. Can the Argonauts avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
