Football Recap: Sexton Big Reds vs. Olivet Eagles
Sexton had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-3 to make it four. They took a 34-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Olivet Eagles. The Big Reds were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.
Sexton's loss came despite strong showings from Willie Brown and Josiah Stewart. Brown picked up 102 receiving yards and one touchdown, while Stewart picked up 33 receiving yards and one TD.
As for Olivet, their win bumped their record up to 3-1. The high-scoring effort was just what they needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Olivet got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Caleb Waffle out in front who rushed for 69 yards and a pair of scores. Those 69 rushing yards gave Waffle a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Evert, who gained 88 total yards.
