Football Recap: Maxwell Keeps Mt. Shasta's Under Pressure + How To Watch

Maxwell won the last time they faced Mt. Shasta and Levi Velasquez did his part to make sure it happened again. The Panthers simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Bears 72-14 thanks in part to Velasquez, who rushed for 163 yards and five touchdowns on only ten carries, and also threw for 132 yards and one TD on only ten passes. His longest rush was for an impressive 54 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

One reason for the win was Maxwell's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Tanner Vierra, Yahir Alcaraz, and Karter Burt, who each picked up one sack apiece.
