Soccer Game Preview: Vance County vs. Carrboro

Vance County hasn't had much luck against Carrboro recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Vipers will challenge the Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Vance County comes in on three and Carrboro on 16.

Vance County took a five-goal loss the last time they faced off against Granville Central, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Vipers won by a goal and slipped past the Panthers 3-2.

Meanwhile, Carrboro kept a clean sheet against Durham School of the Arts on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 9-0 victory. Carrboro might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 games by four goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting Durham School of the Arts from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Ellie Duffy-Hammett led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.

Carrboro's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-0-1. As for Vance County, their victory bumped their record up to 11-6-2.

Vance County might still be hurting after the 9-0 defeat they got from Carrboro in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Vipers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
