Baseball Game Preview: Whitney Wildcats vs. Rocklin Thunder

The Whitney Wildcats will challenge the Rocklin Thunder at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when Whitney challenged Benicia on Thursday. The Wildcats came up short against the Panthers, falling 11-3. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Rocklin suffered their biggest loss since February 28th on Thursday. They lost 13-5 to Laguna Creek.

Merrick Thomas was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Colby Cobb was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Roman Castellanos, who went 3-for-4 with one run.

Rocklin's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10-1. As for Whitney, they now have a losing record of 7-8.
