Softball Recap: Hamilton Heights Victorious

Hamilton Heights won the last time they faced Guerin Catholic and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Huskies came out on top against the Golden Eagles by a score of 6-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Huskies.

Lily Cash made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off nine hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kamryn Rhoton, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ellie Engle, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Hamilton Heights' record now sits at 10-5. As for Guerin Catholic, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hamilton Heights will challenge Cascade at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Guerin Catholic, they will square off against Carmel at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
