Softball Preview: Valley Park Hawks vs. Jefferson Blue Jays        
        
		
             The Valley Park Hawks are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they take on  the Jefferson Blue Jays  at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication,  the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
 Valley Park is headed out to face Jefferson after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Valley Park put the hurt on Maplewood-Richmond Heights with a sharp  21-6 win on Tuesday.
  Adison Durbin was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing  an inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Durbin was even better at the plate,  going 3-for-4 with a  home run, three  runs, and three  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Charley Perkins was  incredible,  going 4-for-4 with a  home run, seven  RBI, and two  doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of  Peyton Whitney, who  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with three  runs, a  triple, and  an  RBI.
 Meanwhile,  winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better  (just ask Jefferson). They blew past Cuba 18-2 on Tuesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Blue Jays with their most commanding win of the  season.
 Valley Park was able to grind out a solid  victory over Jefferson in their previous meeting  back in September of 2023, winning  10-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for Valley Park since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
