Volleyball Recap: Heritage Christian Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against Maranatha on Friday, Heritage Christian came back down to earth. The Warriors came up short against the Village Christian Crusaders on Tuesday, falling 3-0. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Crusaders when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Heritage Christian was not able to win a set, but it sure wasn't from a lack of trying: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 28-26, 25-22, 26-24.

Leading Village Christian to victory were Izzy Aragon and Talia Mardrussian. Aragon had 16 digs and three aces, while Mardrussian had eight digs and two aces. Aragon is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 14 every time she's taken the court this season. Vivian Cherella also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Heritage Christian's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Village Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.

The future could be bright for both Heritage Christian and Village Christian: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Warriors will try to hand Whittier Christian their third-straight defeat when the two meet at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Village Christian will look to extend Maranatha's five-game losing streak when they meet at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
