Baseball Recap: Schenectady Takes a Loss

Schenectady extended their losing streak to 11 on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 0-11 in the process. They lost 15-0 to the Albany Academy for Boys Cadets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Patriots of the 11-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2017.

As for Albany Academy for Boys, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-5. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Albany Academy for Boys' part, they let Willie Kimbler and Ben Dalto run wild. Kimbler went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Dalto went 2-for-3 with three runs and three RBI. That's the most RBI Kimbler has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Rathwell, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

Coming up, Schenectady will be playing at home against Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Albany Academy for Boys, they will head out to face off against Saratoga Springs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
