Basketball Recap: Riverwood Falls Short of Milton in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Riverwood can now relate to. They fell to the Milton Eagles 70-64. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while the Eagles are ranked fifth).

Riverwood has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 16-12 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.5 points over those games. As for Milton, they pushed their record up to 21-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Riverwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Milton, they will square off against Woodward Academy on Saturday. Woodward Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 27 games -- so hopefully Milton likes a good challenge.
