Soccer Game Preview: Godley vs. Ferris

The Godley Wildcats will face off against the Ferris Yellowjackets at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Godley's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Godley's offense. They came up short against Life Waxahachie on Tuesday, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 709th, while the Mustangs are ranked 105th).

Meanwhile, everything went Ferris' way against Venus on Tuesday as Ferris made off with a 5-1 win. The Yellowjackets haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Ferris hit Venus with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Benjamin Harp (2), Nery Najera (2), and Ian Rivas.

Godley's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Ferris, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
