Baseball Recap: Verden Wins Going Away Against Christian Heritage

Verden won against Bridge Creek last Friday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. Verden put the hurt on the Christian Heritage Crusaders with a sharp 8-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won eight matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Verden's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Christian Heritage, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Verden Tigers face off against Hydro-Eakly Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Christian Heritage, they will host Southwest Covenant at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Christian Heritage's pitchers better be ready for this one: Southwest Covenant has averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
