Basketball Recap: Holy Name Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Holy Name can now relate to. They fell just short of the West Geauga Wolverines by a score of 60-57 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Green Wave can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 440th, while the Wolverines are ranked 163rd).

Holy Name dropped their record down to 4-17 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.3 points over those games. As for West Geauga, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.

Holy Name does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West Geauga, they will square off against West Branch at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
