Softball Recap: Hoover's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak at Home

Hoover fell victim to Burbank and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 14-0. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Tornados' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Hoover got a good showing from Evelyn Ortiz, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time Ortiz hasn't allowed a single earned run since back in February of 2024.

Hoover's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4. As for Burbank, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-10-1.

Coming up, Hoover will host Bolsa Grande at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. After both having extra time off, Burbank and Arcadia will shake off the rust and duke it out at 3:30 p.m. on the 15th.
