Gavin Black Delivers Best Effort of Season
Gavin Black produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Permian to the win on Friday. Black's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 177 rushing yards dating back to last season. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 63 yards.
The win for Permian keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. A feisty cat fight will be fought when Panthers dukes it out withSan Angelo Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Chase Campbell Sets Career High in Rushing Yards
On Friday, Frenship got the W thanks in part to Chase Campbell playing the best football he has all season. Campbell picked up 68 receiving yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 58 yards.
Campbell and Frenship will square off against Midland Legacy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers had to take a loss when they last met the Rebels, but Campbell had little to do with the loss: he picked up 144 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Can he match (or beat) that performance?

Another Game with at Least 122 Rushing Yards from Elijah Mccoy
Elijah McCoy continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his sixth-straight game with at least 122 rushing yards. He rushed for 215 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.3 yards per carry.
With the loss, Midland broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-2. McCoy and Midland will venture away from home to square off against Odessa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Bridges Made His Presence Known in Midland's 48-47 Loss
Another Midland player making an appearance on this list is Stroman Bridges. He rushed for 116 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries, and also threw for 31 yards and a touchdown.
Frenship had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Bridges it was a similar story. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Bridges saw the Tigers), he rushed for 209 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries.

Rounding off our Top Five is Aiden Serrano of Midland Legacy. Serrano picked up 130 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground.
This year, Serrano has caught 8 touchdowns while averaging 93.5 receiving yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after six games last season, he had five receiving touchdowns.
