Baseball Recap: Alta Victorious

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Alta ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Skyline Eagles 4-3. For the Hawks, this counts as revenge for the 12-10 win the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Alta got a great performance from Levi Stevenson as he pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. Stevenson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on McCoy Johnson, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Alta's victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Skyline, they dropped their record down to 6-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Alta will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
