Softball Recap: Cincinnatus Central Makes It Three in a Row at Home

Cincinnatus Central barely beat Brookfield Central the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lions never let the Beavers get on the board and left with a 17-0 win on Wednesday. The Lions have beaten the Beavers the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Beavers has come to flipping the script.

Nev Billings was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, Lucy Finch was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.2 runs per game. Addi Stith was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.

Cincinnatus Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Cincinnatus Central pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games.
