Soccer Game Preview: Providence vs. Newberry

The Providence Panthers will challenge the Newberry Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Providence's offense. They came up short against Richland Northeast on Tuesday, falling 3-0. That's two games in a row now that Providence have lost by exactly three goals.

Meanwhile, it may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but Newberry ultimately got the result they hoped for last Friday. They had just enough and edged out Saluda 4-3. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but Newberry were the better team in the second half.

Newberry has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 25 goals over those nine games. As for Providence, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-7.
